New Packing Standards |
Following international standards, all
packaging material (dunnage/pallets) for imports into Japan must be made in accordance to the
International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15. Material must
be non-wood, kiln dried wood, fumigated or otherwise produced according to these
international regulations to prevent the invasion of non-native insects into
Japan.
Packaging material
must have the required markings under this regulation:

In addition,
documentation of proof of proper packaging should be included with the shipping
documents. Any penalties or costs incurred upon
arrival in Japan in consequence of improper adherence to this requirement will
be paid by the shipper.
